About

Chase Potter grew up in the close-knit community of Lamoni, Iowa, where he graduated from Lamoni High School. From an early age, Chase was drawn to the legal field, inspired by his love for debating, crime shows, lawyer movies, and his grandma, who was a Paralegal.

Chase attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, and earned degrees in Communication and Political Communication. After graduation, Chase moved to Gainesville, Florida to attend the University of Florida Levin College of Law. At UF, he was an active member of the Trial Team and represented the Plaintiff on UF’s first national-championship-winning team since 2018, beating rival SEC and ACC schools on the way to victory (Go Gators). He also participated in the Employment and Labor Law Society and Disability Law Association, which furthered his commitment to equity, advocacy, and justice for all employees.

Chase’s passion for employment law and litigation guided his education and career path. Before joining Timmer, Judkins & Borland, he gained valuable experience representing Iowa workers at Skinner & Paschke.

In 2024, Chase returned to Iowa with his wife. He quickly found TJB, where he met a team of like-minded attorneys dedicated to serving others. He didn’t think twice about joining the firm. Chase finds the challenge of advocating for employees facing discrimination, retaliation, and unfair treatment fulfilling, and leans on the compassion and patience he learned from fellow Iowans to guide his practice.

Outside of his legal career, Chase enjoys playing pitch, spades, hearts, poker, or any other card game imaginable. He often visits his family in southern Iowa to attend his youngest sister’s games. He and his wife love exploring old towns to admire the architecture, often visiting friends in St. Louis to catch a soccer or baseball game and stroll through the brick-filled neighborhoods. When he is home, he is either tending to his plants, his dog, or baking something that (usually) smells delicious.
