On July 31, 2019, more than ninety residents of Chickasaw County were called to jury duty at the county courthouse in New Hampton. After a full day of jury selection, five men and three women were selected as the jury in Tina Haskenhoff v. Homeland Energy Solutions, LLC.

After two weeks of trial, the jury returned a verdict of $1,050,000 in Tina Haskenhoff’s favor, finding Homeland subjected her to sexual harassment and retaliated against her when she complained about the illegal behavior. Tina is also entitled to attorney’s fees and expenses.

T&J trial lawyers Brooke Timmer and Nate Borland represented Tina.

Tina Haskenhoff was the laboratory manager for Homeland’s ethanol plant in Lawler, Iowa. She was subjected to sexual harassment over the course of two years. Tina made two complaints of sexual harassment to Homeland. Within weeks of the second complaint, she was forced out of her job.

This was the second trial in the case, following an appeal after the first trial in October 2014.
